New nursing facilities at our Fife Campus
We are delighted to introduce a home simulation room at our Fife Campus.
Gillian Morris, Dundee University Lecturer in Adult Nursing, said, “90% of care is delivered in a community setting so it is critical that our students can practice skills in surroundings that closely simulates the home environment.
“Current health policy is clear that care is to move from hospital to home settings where possible, and our new facilities will support this.”
The room is solely modelled on a home environment and will allow our students to learn clinical skills in that setting.
Iain Burns, Clinical Skills Lead for Fife, added, “The early evaluation from our students has indicated that they find the new room to be very beneficial, both to their learning and preparation for undertaking community nursing roles.”
